Black

...the colour - my favourite
...the feeling - my comfort
...the song - my soul
(and now) ...the movie - my faith (restored in Indian cinema - the last such being Maqbool - but even that pales in comparison somehow, ie)

I think the biggest compliment I can (in my humblest of ways) pay it is that I wasn't watching amitabh bachchan or rani mukherjee or that kid - I was watching the characters they were - and this is considerable considering the stature and all-encompassing 'star' hood of the two....

another point of faith: despite the inherently futile and desperate sadness of the theme, its got to count as one of the happiest movies I have watched.

Bravo! and here's to brave new cinema...even if its from Sanjay Leela Bhansali...

Mute Elation/In Memoriam

Its finally here. - The date we move out of my beloved D190

...and I am really, really sad about it. ...Where to?...well whereever, really (as in, the move 'to' isn't important, the move 'from' is far and tremendously more) So, coming back to D190 (alas, now, but a distant dream even in rhetoric) - this is the place that has been the mute witness to everything (and I mean EVERYthing) that has been in and around me the past 2 years now - from budding friendships to sodding projects...and everything in between. Sometimes its been the home (literally, btw) away from home while at others its felt like anything BUT...It has offered me great many moments of solitude (that in turn led to many a 'Soliloquy') of great group gathering-y thingies, and most importantly of personal bonding(s)...I could just go on... (and be-LIEVE me, I could...)

So, who's elated you ask? - well, I'm sure whoever is moving in to the building will be sure to...

Dear discerning reader,

If you didn't know by now, the more emotionally charged the occasion, the more ramble-y I get...just thought I'd let you know... and no, Jai, I am not drunk! :P

Thank you,
SC

Perpetual 'Discoverers' only

Lately, a lot of people at work, and even friends from the world outside, have been sending these tests - personality tests, aura tests, career tests...and whatever not. Some are long winded and take ages to complete, while some have a maximum of 4 silly questions. ...Nothing profound coming up, except that I discovered this rather simple test which gives you a brief gist of your character on the basis of a visual you select/that 'appeals' most to you. This is what it had to say:

Analytical Trustworthy Self Assured

Your momentary sensitivity represents that which is of high quality and durable. Consequently, you like to surround yourself with little "gems," which you discover wherever they are overlooked by others.

Thus, culture plays a special role in your life. You have found your own personal style, which is elegant and exclusive, free from the whims of fashion. Your ideal, upon which you base your life, is cultured pleasure. You value a certain level of culture on the part of the people with whom you associate.

The Phantom Menace

Ghosts who walk, souls who weep
minds they lose, and hearts they keep
they know not what, they know not why,
they love their love, while tears they cry
