A question

...and not very original at that, but want to ask it anyway:

"Don't it always seem to go
...that you don't know what you got
till it's gone?

They paved paradise
to put up a parking lot..."

:-/

Get whatever you had back...Demolish the Parking Lot and you might just have the chance of getting paradise back.

Illusions: Allow me to quote a (what is this? like, remember-all-sorts-of-poems-week or something??) little something by one of my favourite women - Dorothy Parker:

Oh, life is a glorious cycle of song,
A medley of extemporanea;
And love is a thing that can never go wrong,
And I am Marie of Roumania

...and you wish i understood the hell your post was about!! :P

Anurag: ROFL! :)

Gone are the days when you used to understand what I wrote.

I guess now you know the true meaning of
Don't it always seem to go
...that you don't know what you got
till it's gone?

Ahaaaa Big Yellow Taxi... thank God for memory!!!
Ok now, to answer the question...
Yes, it always seems to go.
Now when you ask 'why?' then I'll tell you why it always seems to go...
Stupid blog though... but whatever.

Golly gee, thanks! din't say it was a very wise question - just felt like asking it!! :P

About the song: I actually prefer the Counting Crows cover to the Joni Mitchell original - she suddnely gets shrieky in the middle!

finally - yeah, why? :)

Why?
Simple logic.
When it's there, it's there. You take it for granted. You consider it yours.
When it goes away it hits you somewhere in the middle of your eyes... Fuck, it's gone. I miss it/him/her.
You were used to it and now it's gone... And you remember that's once upon a time it was yours... But hell you messed up... You wish you hadn't.
